So what does a famous scene from Field of Dreams have to do with you getting a new patient for your practice?
So when Ray’s brother-in-law starts to see the players, he has a total mindset shift, and he tells Ray not to sell the farm. The reason why hotels Ray not to sell the farm is because he would be able to make more money selling the nostalgia of baseball. But what does that have to do with you getting more new patients in your practice?

So if you’ve been following my content at all, you know that I think that content can start to tap into that 90% of people do not see chiropractors on a regular basis. By starting to turn that light on for them, on what you and your practice can do to help them with their problems. So one of the things that I recommend when you’re creating content is really stay focused on the thing that the potential patient cares about.
And so for people that are dealing with some type of body signal, pain, dysfunction, organic conditions, whatever it might be, they care about getting those problems fixed quickly and fixed for the long term.

So when you create content that helps those people, you know, whether it’s just one step forward, whether it’s telling them what it is that you can do to help them with your practice. It starts to turn that light on in their mind, and starts to give them hope that there is a solution to the problem.
A lot of the people that end up finding us, have tried a lot of other things. A lot of people are kind of at the end of their rope and are using chiropractic as a last ditch effort. So, you know, if I were to call every person in a three mile radius of your practice, I would find lots of people that had chiropractic problems, that were not seeing a chiropractor only because they didn’t know that chiropractic could help that problem.
Especially people that deal a lot with organic conditions. People that don’t regularly see a chiropractor don’t understand how chiropractic affects the nervous system which affects their conditions. So getting content out into your community, pushing it out in places that they have their eyeballs and their attention. That’s going to be what allows you to turn that light bulb on for someone. It only takes one moment to completely shift your mindset.

So make sure that you are creating content around things that the potential new patient would care about. Give them tips on how they could make it better, how you can help them in your practice. It doesn’t always have to be about what you do. But you should have, you know, maybe 25% of your content should be around what you actually do in your practice, what services they can get within the four walls of your practice, or if you have an online practice.
But make sure that you’ve got those ‘aha’ moments. That you’re teaching them how is it that this works. Not just here’s what we do for colic, or here’s what we do to reverse diabetes or whatever. Whatever it is that you’re helping with. Don’t just talk about what it is that you do. Talk about why it works in the first place.
A lot of people are not going to go to Google and type in “chiropractor for ____, near me.” But they are spending time on Facebook, on Instagram, on Twitter, on Tik Tok. And that’s your opportunity to get in front of people, change the way they think about their own condition, and hopefully help save some lives. We will see on the next one.
