Your Chiropractic Website Content

Hey what’s up everybody? This is Dr. Nick with LVRG media, and today I want to tell you how you can get custom images and video for your chiropractic website for under $500.

So, too many times I see websites that are just filled with stock imagery. So these are usually the rented websites from the chiropractic company. The chiropractic website companies will happily take whatever images that you want to put on there, but they’re not going to break their backs, trying to chase you down to get those images. So if you don’t get them over to the company, they’re just gonna fill it with whatever they’ve got. They gotta get something up, and they’re moving on to the next. 

The reason why we want custom images and videos throughout your website is because it really gives somebody who is visiting the site a sense of what the practice is like. What’s your brand? What does the space physically look like? What do you do? You know, who are you? So it answered a lot of questions that new patients potentially have. 

Let’s say we have two websites that were literally exactly the same, and one had custom imagery and video, and one had all stock images. The conversion rates on the custom image and video site, I think would probably almost double what the stock imagery site is able to do. I think people now are looking for more of a personal touch. You know, they want to get an understanding, especially with chiropractic. You’re putting your hands on people. Some people may be nervous about going to someone in the first place. 

So realize if they’re on your website, a lot of times they are judging you against someone else. So the more you can give them a sense of what your practice is like, the more likely they are to convert.

That being said how most chiropractors you know, have not had a photographer or videographer come out to their practice ever. So it can seem overwhelming. If you just call a videographer photographer, you know cold call them and ask them for their prices. A lot of times there’s a little bit of sticker shock there with thousands of dollars. So let me give you an idea of where the cost really lies in that type of content.

So when we build websites, we only want custom imagery. We may use a little bit of stock imagery just for service, only because the stock imagery sometimes is a little bit cleaner. Reach out to people that… don’t type in corporate. We usually recommend going with somebody who shoots weddings on the weekends. And they may not do it full time. 

What gets expensive with the photographers and videographers is the editing process. The reason why people pay several thousand for their wedding is because they go and they edit everything. And they cut the video and they have to go through hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures and video clips and they have to spend a lot of time on it. That’s where it gets expensive because photographers and videographers mainly are charging you for their time. 

Chiropractic Custom Images and Videos

If you can get somebody to come out and you tell them all I want you to do is take the pictures and shoot some video or shoot some B roll. If you want to do an introduction like this type of video, they can shoot that. If you just want them to do B roll which would be basically like Silent video shots that you can use in future videos.

You could rent or you could hire someone to come out. The going rate for a day to do that is about $800. I usually think that most offices can get what they need in about a four hour time span. So that’s how you can keep it under $500. I think $500 is kind of the max that I would pay to have somebody come out there to take the pictures, shoot the video and then just upload that into a dropbox folder for you to then use.

Now when we create websites, we take that custom imagery and then we do the editing that normally would cost a lot of money on the photographer and the videographer side. But we take that and we make it look good, and we edit videos the way that we need it. But even if you’re not using us for your website and you’re using anybody else, you can go through and pick out the pictures that you liked the best. You can use the video clips that you liked the best and get that to a website company and they can easily upload that.

So what I would recommend doing is go through your website page by page. Anywhere where their stock imagery, figure out what could go where and make a list, make a list of shots that you really need. And then when somebody comes in, you give them a list of shots that they can take. And then just also get a bunch of other stuff of things that happen in your practice. 

So the best way to do it is to have a busy afternoon or maybe even a Saturday morning. We bring in real patients. You just do what you’re going to do, and you have somebody kind of document the process. Make sure that you get the list of shots that you absolutely need. But that documentation with real people and real patients will allow you to get more of those “fly on the wall” pictures with people smiling and being happy, and you’re doing your thing.

So it doesn’t have to be five grand to get this stuff done. If you’re just hiring somebody for their time to come out and do the thing and you’re not asking them to do any editing. You can keep the price pretty cheap. And anything you get done that’s custom that’s of you, that’s of your practice is going to be better than stock imagery. We’ll see on the next one.
